HIV/AIDS Prevalence In The Districts of Kiboga, Mpigi, Mityana & Mukono
KIBOGA DISTRICT
According to the district statistics of 2020,2021 quarter II, the HIV Prevalence is at 207/1317(15.0%) far above the national (6.2%) prevalence levels.
MPIGI DISTRICT
According to the district statistics of 2021 HIV Prevalence increased 10% to 11% far above the national (6.2%) prevalence levels.
Mukono District AIDS Prevalence
The general prevalence of HIV/AIDS among pregnant women who sought ANC in Mukono Health Centre IV was 7 %.
MITYANA
The District prevalence rate for HIV is estimated at 6.1% which is higher than the
national that is at 5.8%. Currently, the District positivity rate is estimated at 4% for the general population and that of the pregnant women is at 2% (District HMIS Annual
Report, 2020/21).
CACA, through its initiatives as an implementing partner with governments, national and global organizations aims to Scaling up HIV/AIDS prevention and service delivery in communities of Mityana, Kiboga, Mukono and Mpigi

Village Health Teams (VHTs)
Creation of social networks i.e. MAMA CLUBS, Village Health Teams (VHTs), People Living With HIV (PLHIV) to empower, embrace and track the health, social and economic status of the group members.
Behavioral change
Behavioral change i.e. teaching the community, the benefits of regularly and consistently practicing safe sex habits by encouraging right condom usage, ensuring that condoms too never run out by consistently stocking the already existent condom banks and opening up new ones as well as supplying Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.

Referrals
Referrals for those who are found to be with HIV to government Health Centers and National hospitals as well as tracking the enrolled people on ART clinic.

Organizing and chairing community dialogues with community leaders to find solutions to the various problems affecting members of the community.

Continuous sensitization has been effected to change men’s attitude towards ANC with their wives, couple counseling and testing
PARTNERSHIPS, COORDINATION, ADVOCACY, REFERRALS AND LINKAGES
- CACA work with Cultural leaders and VHTs who help us in mobilizing people in the field and sensitizing the PLHAs to have a positive living and when carrying out the rest of the activities.
Sexual, reproductive health and rights integration
Through our BCC messages we have always encouraged women to get the skill of
bargaining for condom usage, and encourage men to go for HCT services and always
carry them for their safety, we have also encourage the community to always visit
health centers for SRH services since its their right for access these services.
